Born June 15, 1922, in Chicago, Illinois. Writer. Dorothy Chaplik graduated from Roosevelt High School in Chicago in 1939 and attended Schurz Junior College the following year, and in 1973 earned her bachelor's degree from Mundelein College in Chicago, majoring in humanities with an emphasis on Latin American studies.
